I love this mages picture. It's one of those cartoons that I never get
tired of seeing.
Part of the pleasure of playing Final Fantasy is seeing its awesome graphics. The graphics are quite secondary, however. I initially got into Final Fantasy through Final Fantasy Legend II (which purists may argue is not really Final Fantasy), and that's on GameBoy. Meaning it has nonexistent graphics. Okay, fine, minimal. And I still stomached playing FF-VIII even though its gameplay graphics have a bad case of the jaggies.
But when the graphics are good, you bet they're good. I watched the FF-VIII and FF-X CGs over and over. And I wouldn't have been able to play FFX-2 three times if the graphics weren't so smooth and seamless. It was like having CG gameplay. I look forward to playing more Final Fantasy games because the graphics just keep getting better and better.
Have you ever noticed that some Final Fantasy series seem to have distinctive character portraits? No? Well, I compiled some of them right here. Enjoy!
...And the funny thing is that I call them portraits, but some of them really go out of their way to not show the characters' faces...
